About Me

Hi! I’m Lauren!

I have been creating bespoke stationery for over 10 years. While working on a wedding invitation project for a couple in 2024, they requested a few sprigs of pressed lavender be tied with string around each invitation suite as a final touch. I had never worked with pressed flowers before, but the experience was so satisfying (and the results so gorgeous), that I decided to dive deep into the world of pressed flowers.

The process of walking through the San Francisco Flower Mart or through the woods to find flowers, placing them carefully into the press, and then creating something beautiful with the results truly feeds my soul.

Pressing flowers is the epitome of slow art. Flowers often take up to three or four weeks in a flower press to become fully dry. Once ready, a flower’s petals are tissue-paper thin, which means they can tear easily. So, I am forced to slow down again, take my time, and handle each flower with the utmost care and delicateness. This practice of working with nature and slowing down has been a healing, centering and nourishing journey for me.

When I’m not creating art, you can find me chasing after my two wild boys, taking a hike on Mt. Tam in Mill Valley, and enjoying good food, wine and sunsets with those I love.
