About

Working with the rhythm of the seasons, I am a botanical artist and stationer specializing in pressed flower compositions and home decor. This journey into botanical art was motivated by a strong desire to connect with nature as my world became more and more consumed with technology. Working with plants forces me to put down my screen, slow down and focus on the delicate flower in front of me. This art form is not only a deeply satisfying creative outlet as a mother of young children, but also a potent grounding tool I use to decompress and recharge.

I have learned so much about the art and science of pressing flowers. Every project lends me more information about how various flowers respond to pressing. Sometimes a flower’s moisture content with the combined effect of too little paper changes in the press ends up a moldy unusable mess. Other times, though, the flowers come out magnificently and I’m able to create something everlasting and beautiful. That’s just working with nature: sometimes unpredictable and challenging, and other times perfect and easy. I hold deep respect and love for nature and hope my art invokes a similar feeling for those who see it.

When I’m not creating in my studio, you can find me chasing after my two wild boys, taking a hike on Mt. Tam in Mill Valley, or enjoying meals and sunsets with those I love.
