Ephemeral blooms, preserved by hand in my Mill Valley home studio using time-honored pressing techniques, are transformed into enduring botanical creations. Each specimen is pressed with care to retain its natural color and form; once opened, these delicate treasures become the foundation for elevated art pieces, thoughtful gifts, and refined home goods.
Snake’s Head Fritillary
This flower has the most amazing purple checkered petals and whispy, whimsical leaves that provide the pressed plant such beautiful movement once mounted on the mat board.
Mounted on 12" x 16” mat board. Can be ordered framed or unframed.
Icelandic Poppy
This piece featuring the ethereal Icelandic Poppy flower in various states of bloom is part of a commissioned tryptic for a child’s bedroom.
Painted Lady Liz Tulip
Pressing tulips requires extra care and attention as they have a high moisture content. What works best is completely deconstructing the flower, petal by petal and daily paper changes for the first week.
Worth the effort? I think so.
